Species Available:

Plaice, Sole, Red Mullet and small "problem" fish like pout. Lots of crabs!

How to Fish:

A big worm bait is the best way to go. If fishing high water you can cast in the direction of the moored boats or towards white rock. Low water can be fished from the bottom corner of the slip casting towards White Rock. Crabs can be a problem so if you are fishing for plaice a moving bait is a good idea, a very slow retreive is best.

The red mullet are partial to a large worm bait as are the flatties but keep the hook size down, it is not likely that you will pick up a larger fish but a rogue bass or conger is possible at night.

Mark information:

This is very much a mark that anyone can fish. Good for the kids if the nearby marks are busy.

There can be a problem with boats at peak times and at high water in daylight as the refuelling station at Boatworks is right next to the top of the mark. Remember to give way to the boats or you will just lose your tackle regardless of who is in the wrong! As mentioned earlier it is possible to park at the mark but only really at night. The parking spaces immediatelyin front of the mark are reserved for those who wish to park up and watch the harbour. It's not normally a problem at night. The nearest timed parking is on the opposite side of the model yacht pond where you can park for a few hours, 10 hour parking is available back towards the high havelet wall past the scuba shop.

Best Tide:

High and low water and the hour or two either side.
