Where to fish

Le Long Cavaleaux

An easier to get to cliff mark with deep water at your feet. Still dangerous in wet conditions and if you don't take care.

Avoid this mark when there is a swell running and not a place to be in a South or South West wind. The path can be crumbly when wet or dry so take care. A rope isn't really needed but may provide some comfort.

Type of Mark:

Rock

Which Guide Map:

South

Bottom Type:

Rough

Wind Sheltered From:

Most winds coming from the North and East

How to Get There:

Two parking options, either the small carpark at Les Tielles or the one by Mont Herault tower, once parked, just walk along the cliff path until you reach the path above the mark. The walk down the rocks isn't too bad compared to some but beware that you are walking over a large archway. No doubt that one day this will collapse... But if it can support me then you should be fine!! The final descent over some rocks is a little tricky if you have a lot of gear with you.

Species Available:

Big Mullet, Bream, Wrasse, Garfish, Pollack, Dogfish, Bull Huss, Conger and the occasional bass.

How to Fish:

This mark is a mixed bottom and very heavy in places. Lends very well to float fishing with shirvy with the deep water at your feet. Casting with large bait on the bottom could produce a number of species as can a fish shirvy and big fish baits on the float after dark.

Mark information:

Fishing is easiest from the west side of the rocks but any side will be good. Spinning is possible right round the reef and bottom fishing from most access points.

Best Tide:

Low water half down to half up.
