Fort Le Crocq Slip


Small now defunct slipway where weed piles up letting the mullet feed on maggots and sandhoppers being washed out of the weed on spring tides.

How to Get There:

From the North end of Perelle, drive along Rue de la Maladerie and take the first left (Route de la Marette), follow the road until you reach a rough carpark.

Species Available:

Grey Mullet, Wrasse, Bass sometimes.

How to Fish:

Grey Mullet are the normal quarry when the seaweed is in. If you don't see any Mullet, don’t bother trying!

Bass can be had by spinning from the rocks below the slip on low tide. It's a long alk across the rocks though.

Mark information:

The Mullet only tend to appear in certain conditions when the wind is blowing into the bay and the seaweed has a sufficient supply of maggots and sandhoppers being washed into the sea by a very high tide but when they do appear, they are normally in some numbers.
