Seems much longer on the way back up!
Park near Doyle Column on Jerbourg Road. Walk back the way you came and cross the field with a large stone at the top and path through it. Follow the path down until you reach a path crossing the one you are on after some steps. Go straight through and follow the signs (on stones at ground level) to the bay. Check every stone as the sign isn't always visible in the direction you are walking. Once you reach the moorings you can go to whichever mark you want. | | Access: | click for detailed description
| | Species Available: | Black Bream, Triggerfish, Red Mullet, Wrasse, Grey Mullet, Conger and others. | | How to Fish: | This depends what you are after. Use the normal approach for the species you are targeting, no special requirements.
Shirvy tactics can be used here for Black Bream close in on a neap high. | | Mark information: | There are three spots you can fish from.
The first is from the platform above the harbour itself. This is the easiest to get to but doesn't always produce much other than Wrasse or the occasional Conger. It can be great for grey mullet as they shoal into the corner below the stone wall feeding on the weed and debris blown into the bay. Casting over the rocks to the east makes it difficult to retrieve.
The second mark is from the rocks to the east of the platform. These can be accessed from the South East grass verge and climb over the top. The spot is as in the second picture. Fish close in for Wrasse or cast to the sand for other species.
The last mark is to the South of the Moorings and can be accessed down the grass verge, through the gully and onto the top of the rocks, there are a few rocks close in breaking to sand. You must watch the tide here and get off the rock before you get cut off, it is normally safe to stay on the rock over a small neap tide in calm conditions. | | Best Tide: | Low water generally but on a neap tide the second mark detailed fishes well over the high water as well. High water for the moorings platform. |
